Mufti Gaynutdin: Pray together for peace to be established in Europe, in the Islamic world and everywhere on the planet
On 3rd of March General Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation in Russia Christina Marti Lang.

Mufti Gaynutdin acquainted Mrs. Christina Marti Lang with the history of Islam in Russia, the active activities of the RBM RF in the fields of education, culture, charity and enlightenment, spoke about the activities of the Muslim International Forum, the international conference "Spiritual Silk Road" and other initiatives held under the auspices of the RBM RF. Separately, the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria, which became possible thanks to the initiative of Mufti Gaynutdin and the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was noted this year.

Mufti Gaynutdin brought to the attention of a high-ranking diplomat of Switzerland, which is a neutral country that is not part of any military bloc, his position as the religious leader of Muslims regarding a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine and the emerging political crisis in relations between Russia and NATO countries. "We do not want war and we pray for peace. I am sure our prayers will be heard by the Lord, and politicians will sit down at the negotiating table," Mufti Gaynutdin said. As the head of the RBM RF stressed, "The West has built a world that considers the only possible global world order, and does not hear Russia. The President's duty is to preserve the unity, integrity and security of Russia. The West hoped that the imposed sanctions would turn the people away from the President, but it turns out the opposite - the people are rallying in his support."

The world needs a civilizational dialogue between the West and the East, Mufti Gaynutdin is convinced. The religious leader informed the Swiss Ambassador that he was in incessant prayer and called on all people of good will to "pray together for peace to be established in Europe, in the Islamic world and everywhere on the planet."
