Damir Mukhetdinov discussed cooperation issues with the Adviser of the Turkish Embassy in the Russian Federation
On 16th of December, First Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF), Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, Director of the Center for Islamic Studies of St. Petersburg State University, Professor Damir Mukhetdinov held a meeting with the advisers of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Russian Federation Omar Faruk Savuran.
During the meeting, the sides talked about cooperation and the implementation of joint projects, and also discussed issues related to publishing, including the joint publication of the book series "Revival and Renewal" ("Al-Islah wa-t-Tajdid") and the textbook "The History of Islam in Russia". The last one will be translated into Turkish and presented at the celebrations dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Publishing House "Medina" in September 2022.
The meeting also noted the participation of the Turkish side in the events on the occasion of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria in 2022, in particular, participation in the VIII All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Readings by him. Shigabutdina Marjani" on the topic: "Islam in Russia: Understanding the 1100-year experience of Russian Muslims", which will be held on January 13-14 at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and will be the grand opening of the year of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria.
In addition, during the conversation, the active and productive participation of the Turkish side, headed by the Chairman of the Department of Religious Affairs of Turkey, Doctor, Professor Ali Erbash, was noted in the XIV International Scientific and Educational Conference "Galimjan Barudi Readings" on the topic: "Principles of intra-religious Pluralism in Islamic Education", which was timed to coincide with the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria and was held on September 22-24, 2021 at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, and in the XVII Muslim International Forum "From ecological preaching to ecological thinking: the search for the optimal way of speaking" held yesterday in an online format.
At the end of the meeting, which was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, the sides exchanged memorable gifts and outlined plans for further deepening of contacts.
