Damir Mukhetdinov met with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation
On 20th of September, on behalf of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, a meeting was held between First Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF), Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute Damir Mukhetdinov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Thani. The meeting was held at the residence of the Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Moscow.
Greeting the Ambassador on behalf of the Chairman of the RBM RF Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, D. Mukhetdinov told about the preparations for the solemn celebration in 2022 of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria at the state level, which was launched after the appeal of the Chairman of the RBM RF Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin to Vladimir Putin at the traditional meeting of the president with religious figures of the country. Following the meeting on 4th of November, 2020, the head of state supported the initiative and gave appropriate orders to the government of the Russian Federation.
In addition, Damir Mukhetdinov expressed hope that both the Qatari side will take an active part in the World Conference on Interreligious and Interethnic Dialogue, which will be held on May 16-18 in St. Petersburg, and in the XVIII Muslim International Forum, which is scheduled for December 2022 in Moscow.
For his part, the Qatari Ambassador expressed interest in strengthening friendly ties between Muslims and the peoples of the two countries, including his intention that high-ranking officials of the State of Qatar will also be represented at the upcoming anniversary events in honor of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria.
At the meeting, the representative of the RBM RF also presented the Qatari diplomat with the book products of the publishing house "Medina", introduced the latest novelties, including books from the series "Revival and renewal".
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable gifts and agreed on cooperation in various fields.
