Damir Mukhetdinov took part in a program on RT-Arabic
First Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, Doctor of Theology Damir Mukhetdinov became a guest of the program "Russian Dimension" on the RT-Arabic.

Damir Mukhetdinov told the world Arabic-speaking audience about the stages of the revival and formation of Islamic theological education in Russia since the Soviet era, familiarized the viewers of the channel with the modern development of Islamic education, theology and scientific publishing.

"In order to stop attempts to spread extremism and radicalism among Russian followers of Islam, Muslim religious leaders appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to create educational institutions for training personnel for the Islamic clergy in our country, and not abroad," D.Mukhetdinov said and told about the launch back in 2005 of a government training program for specialists with in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of Islam. According to him, the leading state universities of the country, such as MSU, St. Petersburg State University, KFU, universities of the North Caucasus and others participate in this program along with Islamic educational institutions as partner universities. "Thanks to this program, over the past 15 years we have produced a large number of specialists with knowledge in the field of Islam and Oriental studies in general," he said.

Doctor of theology also told RT-Arabic viewers that secular subjects are taught in Russian Islamic educational institutions along with religious subjects "We do not teach only purely religious clergymen, but people with a wide range of knowledge, including secular ones I am sure that this is the right direction, because we live in a multi-confessional, multi-ethnic, secular, democratic state," he stressed.

At the end of the program, Damir Mukhetdinov introduced the book series "Al-Islah wa-t-tajdid− - "Revival and Renewal", which, according to him, includes selected works of philosophers whose scientific work belongs to different schools of modernism and neo-modernism of Islamic theological and socio-political thought.
