Islamic book store "Barakat" opened at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque
On 1st of April, 2021, the grand opening of the Barakat retail store - the first bookstore in the capital specializing in different aspects of Islamic culture-took place on the territory of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, General Secretary of the Muslim International Forum honored the opening ceremony with his participation and kind words. The event was also attended by Deputy chairmen: Rafik Fattakhetdinov, Ildar Nurimanov, Ravil Seifetdinov. Konstantin Blazhenov, Deputy Head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow, was the guest of honor at the ceremony.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the verses of the Noble Koran performed by the imam-khatib of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, Islam Zaripov. After that, the religious leader of the Russian Muslims, Mufti Gaynutdin, offered prayers that opened store would contribute to the enlightenment and education of Muslims, as well as open Islam and Muslim culture to anyone interested in this issue.
"Opening a bookstore is our service in the sphere of education not only for Muslims, but also for all those who are interested in Islam: faith, law, morals, theology and practice. It will certainly serve to the whole community."
Ravil Gaynutdin noted the absence of a store in Moscow that offers religious Islamic literature and literature in national languages, including for children. For filling this gap, the Mufti Sheikh expressed gratitude to Rustem Sabitov, the manager of the Barakat chain of stores, which also includes a halal market and a gift shop in the complex of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, a clothing store at the Historical Mosque.
The head of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation stressed that despite the abundance of modern formats, the traditional printed book does not lose importance in gaining knowledge and mental growth of a person.
"The book is necessary for the human soul. A person should read a book, it gives peace of mind, pleasure, allows you to fully absorb the meaning of the text, " said Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin.
The significance of the opening of the new bookstore is explained by unique format, which will provide Moscow residents and guests of the Russian capital with Islamic literature authored by the best religious philosophers and scientists in many languages: Arabic, Kyrgyz, Russian, Tajik, Tatar, Uzbek, Uyghur, Turkish, Kazakh, Chechen, Avar, Kumyk, Bashkir, Azerbaijani and English. On the shelves will be presented lists of the Noble Koran, works on Islamic law, religious beliefs, the history of Islam, religious practice, traditions about the prophets, manuals on the Arabic language, children's literature.
