Meeting of Damir Mukhetdinov with Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali
On 24th of May 2021, at the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Kazem Jalali, the Acting Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Damir Mukhetdinov, visited the Embassy of Iran. The subjects of the conversation were Russian-Iranian relations and, in this context, the development of joint scientific and educational projects between the Muslims of Russia and Iran.
At the beginning of the meeting, Damir Mukhetdinov conveyed greetings to the Ambassador on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. He stressed that the political and diplomatic relations between the two countries are of strategic importance for both sides, while the level of partnership between the two states in the international political, trade, scientific, educational and cultural spheres is steadily growing. This is also confirmed by the regular meetings between the presidents of Russia and Iran and other high officials of the two states.
The sides touched upon the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and recent escalation in Gaza, condemned the disproportionate use of force and actions that threatened the third holy site of Islam – the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
Mr. Kazem Jalali highly appreciated the level of humanitarian contacts between the scientific and educational institutes of Iran and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF), expressed gratitude to the RBM RF and personally to Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin for the activities aimed at strengthening dialogue and mutual understanding between states, peoples and religions. Specific projects of the Iranian side were announced, in which the RBM RF was invited to participate.
The meeting was attended by the head of the cultural center at the Embassy, Akbari Jeddi, as well as the head of the Ibn Sina Islamic Culture Research Foundation, Hamid Hadawi.
At the end of the meeting, Damir Mukhetdinov presented the host side with the latest publications, including the first books from the book series "Rebirth and Renewal".
