Meeting of Damir Mukhetdinov with the head of the State Television of Iran Ali Asgari and Ambassador Kazem Jalali
The Acting Chairman of the RBM RF, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Damir Mukhetdinov met with the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran TV and Radio Company Mr. Ali Asgari at the residence of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to the Russian Federation, Mr. Kazem Jalali, and the head of the International Department of the RBM RF, Ildar Galeev.

At the beginning of the meeting, Damir-hazrat greeted the high-ranking Iranian delegation on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, and congratulated them on the beginning of the new year according to the Muslim calendar. On behalf of Mufti Gaynutdin and the Muslim clergy of the RBM RF, the Muslim Ummah of Russia, he also expressed congratulations on the inauguration of the newly elected President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, a few days earlier, wishing the Iranian president every success, and the Iranian people prosperity and further development.

"The Iranian people are wise and persistent. I am sure that he will adequately endure any trials and come out of them as a winner, " Damir Mukhetdinov expressed his conviction. The Acting Chairman of the RBM RF mentioned the important role of Iran and its predecessors in the historical arena in the processes of spreading Islamic culture in the territory of the modern Russian Federation, the religious and intellectual ties of Russian Islam with Iran and the Persian-speaking peoples.

"Islam in the Russian Empire was greatly influenced by the Central Asian Islamic Persian-speaking culture. Many of our scientists received knowledge in Khorezm, Samarkand and Bukhara. It is noteworthy that in the pre-revolutionary period, the document flow in the religious administration was carried out in Persian. Even in Soviet times, this communication did not stop. After all, as you know, our leading Muslim leaders, muftis operating in Russia and the CIS, were trained in the authoritative Bukhara madrasah Mir-Arab, so the Persian - speaking culture is very close to them," Damir Mukhetdinov said.

He stressed the role of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in establishing close relations with Iran in the religious and spiritual spheres: "We express our gratitude to the Embassy of Iran for its consistent, systematic work, goodwill and openness. The joint organization of visits of distinguished guests to the Cathedral Mosque, events, various programs and projects emphasizes only a wise position and a sincere desire to serve Islam and Muslims."
In turn, the head of the State Television and Radio Company of Iran, Mr. Ali Asgari, said that he was sincerely glad to state that the Iranian-Russian relations are at a very high level, and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia and the Religious Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, have friendly relations. "We highly appreciate the fact that Vladimir Putin was the first to send words of congratulations to the elected President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi," the guest noted.
He also stressed the importance of developing spirituality and religiosity in society, stressing that he was glad to see the strengthening of the social character of Islam in Russia, and not individualistic, as it happens, according to him, in some other countries.

"I am deeply satisfied with the intellectual conversation on a wide variety of topics: from history, religion to literature. The fact that the clergy in Russia is not an outsider observer of the current social, public, political processes, but a direct participant who has his own strategic vision, " Ali Asgari stressed in an interview with Damir-Hazrat.

Among the relevant joint projects was the creation of conditions for the study of the Persian language on the basis of the Center for Persian Language and Literature created at the Moscow Islamic Institute, as well as the participation of the Iranian side in holding cultural and scientific events within the framework of the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria. Among other things, it was in the city of Mashhad in Iran that the scientist Akhmatzaki Walidi found a list of the manuscripts of Ahmad ibn Fadlan – the main historical evidence of the fact of the adoption of Islam in Volga Bulgaria.

At the end of the meeting, the sides highly appreciated the constructive interaction, noting the importance of bilateral efforts on the path of peace and harmony, both within Islam and with representatives of other religions and cultures.
