Meeting with the Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev
On 26th of May, 2021, Acting Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF), Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Doctor of Theology Damir Mukhetdinov visited the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where he had a meeting with the Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU, Professor Zhanseit Tuimebayev.
Having conveyed the words of sincere greetings on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, and having congratulated Kazakhstan on a major state anniversary – the 30th anniversary of independence, Damir Mukhetdinov presented to the rector the activities of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Islamic Institute, as well as the achievements of Russian academic science in the development of theology as a branch of knowledge in the face of the activities of the Center for Islamic Studies of St. Petersburg State University and the defense of dissertations on Islamic theology in the state university. Separately, he focused on the activities of Mufti Gaynutdin and his associates in developing a dialogue of cultures and religions, peacemaking, and building humanitarian bridges between peoples and countries.
During the conversation with the head of one of the oldest and largest universities of the fraternal state, the main focus was on the moral education and intellectual development of young people, especially students, and creating conditions for the disclosure of their potential and opportunities in the creative direction. It is no secret that the subject of special concern of the management of any university in Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries is the protection of young people from extremist ideas, from radicalism and extremes.
Plans were outlined for cooperation between scientific and educational institutions of the two countries, exchange of experience in the development of theology as a science.
