Mufti Gaynutdin: the signing of the memorandum will contribute to the increase of the authority of Islam and the authority of Muslims
On 22nd of September, at the residence of the head of the Muslims of Russia in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between the Centralized religious organization "Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation" (RBM RF) and the main Fatwa Directorate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The document was signed by the Chairman of the RBM RF, the General Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and the Supreme Mufti of Jordan, Abdelkarim Salim Al-Hasavneh.
The signing ceremony was also attended by: Secretary General of the Main Directorate for Fatwa Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Professor, Doctor of Sharia Sciences Ahmad Hasanat, head of the International Department of the Fatwa Office of Jordan Dr. Hassan Abu Arkub, First Deputy Chairman of the RBM RF, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute Professor Damir Mukhetdinov, Deputy Chairman of the RBM RF for International Affairs Rushan Abbyasov and head of the International Department of the RBM RF Ildar Galeev.
Before signing the document, a brief conversation took place, during which the head of the Muslims of Russia, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, thanked the Jordanian delegation for the visit in response to the invitation and expressed gratitude to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Khaled Shawabki, told about the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan to the Moscow Cathedral Mosque on February 15, 2018 and shared details of the negotiations with His Majesty.
The head of the Muslims of Russia said that the current feature of Russian-Jordanian political relations is the active nature of contacts at the highest level. "We see the visits of the King of Jordan to the Russian Federation as a guarantee of further trusting relations between the leaders of our countries. According to the memorandum, the RBM RF receives free access to fatwas, articles and studies published by the General Directorate for fatwas of the IHK, with the right to translate. In addition, the parties exchange printed publications, journals in which Islamic studies and fatwas are published, cooperate in holding joint scientific conferences, forums related to theological studies and fatwas, in organizing programs to improve the scientific qualifications of personnel in matters related to fatwas and their publication, countering the ideas of extremism and terrorism.
