One of the largest museums of Islamic culture in Europe is being created in Russia
The Museum of Islamic Culture, which is currently being created in St. Petersburg, promises to become one of the largest and unique in Europe. In the coming time, the Museum, which was established in 2019 and is currently being prepared for opening, will be presented in Russia at the Federation Council - the upper house of the Russian parliament, and then at the UNESCO site.Speaking at the conference "Bigiev Readings": "Islamic Theological thought: global crises and ways to overcome them", the director of the Museum, Doctor of Historical Sciences Efim Rezvan, told about this.

Speaking to the participants of the scientific readings, Rezvan outlined the main mission of the new museum as "To tell the world about Islam in Russia and in Russia - about Islam in the world." He said that even in St. Petersburg there are huge museum, archival, academic collections on the subject of Islam, the biggest part of which has not yet been studied or insufficiently studied. As an example, he mentioned the common phrase that the history of Central Asia was written on the banks of the Neva River and explained the emergence of such a statement by the fact that it is in St. Petersburg that a huge written heritage on the history of the region is stored. The active work of the museum, according to the scientist, will allow telling the world about the "Russian civilizational alternative".

Mr. Rezvan also spoke about the goals of the Museum's presentation in our country and in Europe.

The purpose of the presentation in Russia is to show the possibilities of the museum in cooperation with the regions with the Muslim population of the country.

The purpose of the presentation in Europe is to demonstrate the scope of the Muslim heritage of our country in Europe and the implementation of different promising projects.

As the speaker stressed, this is called "museum diplomacy", when projects are implemented that can subsequently raise relations between countries to a new level.

It is worth noting that the Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Doctor of Theology Damir Mukhetdinov is an honorary member of the Academic Council of the Museum
