Religious leaders are in solidarity on the issue of educating ecological thinking
The XVII annual meeting of the Muslim International Forum (MIF), entitled "From ecological preaching to ecological thinking: the search for the optimal way of speaking", was held on 15th of December with the participation of religious, political and public figures. The main platform of the forum was the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, where speakers and participants from 20 countries of the world, as well as from many Russian cities, joined the videoconference.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the General Secretary of the MIF, in his speech called on people to be not only consumers of the resources that nature provides, but also to be competent managers who help nature and live in harmony with it.

Professor, Dr. Ali Erbash, Head of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, put great emphasis in his speech on the fact that Islamic religious figures should urge people to protect nature and explain what catastrophic consequences global warming can lead to.

"The environment around us was entrusted to man by Allah. Therefore, a person should establish a model of relationship with a sense of responsibility towards all living beings and nature," Mr. Erbash added.
The Supreme Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Shawki Allam, greeted the organizers and participants of the forum from Cairo. In his speech, the Supreme Mufti touched upon the subject of the relationship between religion and science, which should go hand in hand and together these two industries will be able to move the situation with the environment in the world in the right direction.

The chairman of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Cardinal Miguel Angel Ayuso Gixot, delivered a video message to the forum participants. The representative of the Holy See stressed that the problems in the world related to ecology should be solved exclusively by the joint efforts of all people of the planet, and religion should contribute to the education of people.

The speakers of the Forum were: Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan Nauryzbai kazhy Otpenov, Mufti of the Republic of Tajikistan Saidmukarram Abdukodirzoda, Supreme Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina Huseyn Kavazovich, Head of the Organization for Culture and Islamic Relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran Khojat al-Islam Mehdi Imanipur, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Entities of Azerbaijan Mubariz Gurbanly Russians Chairman of the Patriarchal Expert Council of the Russian Orthodox Church for Cooperation with the Islamic World Hieromonk Gregory and others.
