The brotherly tour of the Balkans which has started will open a new page of interaction between the Balkan and Russian Muslims
First Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Damir Mukhetdinov is paying a visit to the Balkan Peninsula as part of a delegation of European Muslims. With the blessing of the head of the RBM RF, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the brotherly tour of the Balkans will open a new page of interaction between the Balkan and Russian Muslims.

The tour program includes visits to several countries of the region at once for meetings with religious and political leaders in the framework of religious diplomacy and the expansion of humanitarian ties.
The delegation of the European Muslim Forum was headed by EMF President Abdul-Vahid Niyazov. It also includes the Mufti of Lithuania Romas Yakubauskas, European Muslim intellectuals Nader Akkad (Italy) and Karim Ifrak (France), etc.

On 28th of June, the delegation visited the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia - the People's Assembly in Belgrade, where it was received by the Deputy Chairman of the People's Assembly, the well-known religious figure Muamer Zukorlic. On behalf of the Serbian side, the rector of the Islamic Institute in Novi Pazar Enver Gigic also participated in the conversation.

Having conveyed the words of brotherly greeting on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Gaynutdin, Damir Mukhetdinov spoke about the activities of the RBM RF and the development of Russian Islam. He invited fellow believers living in Serbia to take part in the celebrations in honor of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria, which will be held under the patronage of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Damir Mukhetdinov noted the symbolism of the visit of European Muslims to Belgrade on the 500th anniversary of the first appearance of Islam and Muslims in Belgrade as a result of the campaign of the Ottoman ruler Suleiman the Legislator.

Today, being a significant Muslim minority in multicultural and multi-religious countries, such as Russia and Serbia, Muslim leaders of both countries pay special attention to the education of the younger generation and the training of religious and intellectual personnel for their communities. In this light, the project of the Balkan Center for the training of Hafizs of the Koran, which is being implemented under the patronage of the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov in Novi Pazar, the administrative center of the Sanjak region of the Republic of Serbia, was discussed.
