The XI International Forum "Islam in the Multicultural World" has started in Kazan
The XI International Forum "Islam in the Multicultural World" has started its work on 14th of October at Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University on the basis of the Institute of International Relations with the support of the Foundation for Islamic Culture, Science and Education.
The co-organizer of the most authoritative forum for many years has been the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF).
With the blessing of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the first Deputy Chairman of the RBM RF, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, Professor Damir Mukhetdinov, who announced the greetings on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims and delivered a plenary report, is the only one among the Muslim religious figures taking part in the plenary session.
In the second half of the day, the work of the forum will continue in three sections: "Human capital and problems of socio-political development of the states of the Middle East and North Africa"; "Countering the spread of the ideology of extremism among young people, studying the nature of the ideological confrontation between traditional Islam and quasi-religious associations"; "Russia - the Islamic world: ways and prospects of economic cooperation".
In addition, on the first day of the forum, a presentation of the publications of the Medina Publishing House will take place.
On the second day of the forum, in the section "Countering the spread of the ideology of extremism among young people, studying the nature of the ideological confrontation between traditional Islam and quasi-religious associations", Adviser to the Chairman of the RBM RF, leading researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Farid Asadullin will make a report. The topic of the report is "On the issue of Sunni-Shiite contradictions: from dichotomy to synergy?" (the experience of the Tatar theological heritage).
One of the key and practically demanded items is the long-term annual monitoring of the memory of E. Primakova - "Islamic radicalism in the subjects of the Russian Federation". The moderators will be Adviser to the Mufti and long-term partner of the Medina Publishing House, Professor of the Department for the Study of Islamic Civilization (on the basis of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences) of the Institute of International Relations of the KFU, Doctor of Historical Sciences Aidar Khabutdinov and Deputy Chairman of the RBM RF for Education and Science, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of MIA R.Islyamov.
On 16th of October, the section "Encyclopedic Dictionary of Islam in the Russian Federation" will be held. The moderator is Professor Aidar Khabutdinov. R. Islyamov will make a report at the section.
The event is attended by Russian and foreign scientists, teachers, graduate students, employees of public and state organizations, businessmen, etc.
On 13th of October, within the framework of the international forum, the ceremony of awarding the Gold Medal of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan "For Achievements in Science" to Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaly Naumkin took place.
