DOHA will become the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2021
Events oriented at promoting the Islamic heritage will be held in the Qatari capital throughout the year. The "World Islamic Capital of Culture 2021" festival has now started in Doha.
At the opening of the program in the cultural village of Qatar and the Museum of Islamic Art, the Minister of Culture Salah bin Ghanim al-Ali, noted that the state has a lot of research works in various spheres of science and art, widely known not only in Islamic countries, but also around the world. He also recalled that these works, translated into foreign languages, are used as teaching guide in universities in Europe, America and Asia.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Sani says that his country's faith in the culture and heritage of Islam is deeply rooted, and thanks to this that various projects of international importance are being implemented. All events of "Doha-the cultural capital of the Islamic world 2021" will be held with the participation of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Qatar.
ISESCO started this project in 2005. And since then, different cultural events are held in the selected capitals throughout the year, which show the level of development of Islam in the country, and the hospitality of the selected city and people.
