First Digital Islamic Art Agency NFT to launch in Middle East
NFT, or nonfungible tokens, is currently the most fashionable trend in the art world.
An NFT is essentially a unique digital unit that cannot be copied. While the high prices enjoyed by NFT art surprise some, others are proud to own a unique digital asset that gives them exclusive and permanent rights.
The NFT art market grew more than 800 percent in just the first four months of 2021, from $ 52 million in January to a whopping $ 490 million by the end of April, according to a Business Insider report.
As a result, more and more artists are looking to create NFT art and are working with several agencies and galleries to create specialized departments to manage digital art.
The Dubai-based Behnoode Foundation is to launch the first-ever NFT digital Islamic art agency in the Middle East-Behnoode Art.
In 2016,Behnood Javaherpour , the founder and creative director of Behnoode, founded the foundation, which supports charities in Nepal and Iran. Behnoode Art will partner with the foundation to donate a portion of all auctioned digital art to help out-of-school children.
The new agency aims to modernize the works of talented Middle Eastern artists and sell unique digital works through live auctions to fine art collectors around the world, Jawaherpour said.
Behnoode Art currently works with over 100 artists who create NFT artwork. Its purpose is to make the art of NFT easy for all people to understand, and to make it a tool for promoting artists.
Behnoode Art will serve as a platform for artists who want to make their art available digitally and participate in the agency's events throughout the year, such as private auctions, collaborative projects, gala events, and various other promotions for the sale and promotion of works of art.
Jawaherpur said the agency is working to build links with Islamic banks and other financial institutions in the region to " create a community that values the visual arts by integrating modern technology."
Behnoode Art was expected to officially launch in July.
