Leaders of world religions supported the struggle against climate change
The solemn ceremony took place on 4th of October in the Hall of Blessings of the Vatican, where each of the religious leaders signed an appeal.

Among those present at the signing in the Vatican were Pope Francis, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople, Metropolitan Hilarion of the Russian Orthodox Church, representing Patriarch Kirill, and Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, representing the Anglican Community. Among the Muslim representatives were the Great Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmad Muhammad Al-Tayeb (Egypt) and Ayatollah Seyed Mostafa Mohagegh Damad from the Academy of Sciences in Tehran (Iran), while the world Jewish community was represented by Rabbi Noam Marans from the International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultations.

I would like to note that representatives of all religions, during their speeches, appeal to politicians to ensure greater cooperation and coordination for the development of "green energy". For their part, religious leaders are also committed to conducting educational work and fostering collective responsibility for the preservation of the planet.

It is also noted that the document has been prepared for the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), which will be held in November in Glasgow. Francis has already announced his intention to take part in it.
