Mufti Gaynutdin's meeting with the UAE Ambassador to Russia Muhammad Ahmed Al-Jaber
On 4th of March, Chairman of the Ecclesiastical Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, member of the Council for Cooperation with Religious Associations under the President of the Russian Federation, General secretary of the Muslim International Forum Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation Muhammad Ahmed Al-Jaber. The meeting was attended by the first Deputy chairman of the RBM RF, the rector of the Moscow Institute of Islamic Studies, the executive secretary of the Muslim International Forum Damir Mukhetdinov, the head of the International Department of the RBM RF Ildar Galeev and the director of the ICSIS "Halal" Aidar Gazizov.
At the beginning of the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of cooperation at the highest level, the existence of a direct dialogue between the leadership of Russia and the UAE, which, according to the sides, allows Russian-Emirati cooperation to cover new spheres of activity.
"It is pleasing that in addition to the development of relations in the fields space exploration, aircraft construction, weapons (MIC), agriculture, economy, business and investment, cooperation in the religious sphere is also actively developing. Thanks to the support of the UAE Diplomatic Mission in Moscow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation consistently develops contacts and ties with relevant government agencies and international organizations located in the UAE," Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin emphasized.
The head of the RMC and RBM RF informed the Ambassador about the successful visit of the delegation of the RBM RF and ICSIS "Halal" to the UAE and participation in the largest international exhibition Gulfood, where agreements were reached on increasing cooperation in the halal industry.
Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin thanked Mr. Muhammad Al-Jaber for the participation of representatives of the UAE Embassy in the presentation of the first Russian translation of the encyclical of the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, on brotherhood and social friendship "Fratelli tutti" – "All brothers". This presentation, according to the mufti, was a continuation of the gracious initiative of the UAE leadership to organize the first visit to the Arabian Peninsula of Pope Francis and his meeting with the Supreme Imam of the leading Islamic University "Al-Azhar" Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayeb, which resulted in the signing of the document "On human brotherhood for peace and peaceful coexistence".
During the meeting, Mufti Gaynutdin invited the Emirati side to actively participate in the celebrations on the occasion of the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to intensify cooperation in the religious, educational, social and humanitarian spheres.
