Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met with EU Ambassador to Russia Markus Florian Ederer
On 14th of July 2021, at the residence of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, the chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF) and the Russian Mufties Council (RMC), the General Secretary of the Muslim International Forum, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, met with the Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation Markus Florian Ederer. The meeting was attended by First Secretary of the Embassy Baibe Kine, First Deputy Chairman of the RBM RF, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Damir Mukhetdinov, Deputy Chairman of the RBM RF Rushan Abbyasov and Head of the International Department of the RBM RF Ildar Galeev.
During the meeting, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told Mr. Ambassador about the large-scale activities of the RBM RF and the RMC in the spheres of development of Muslim infrastructure, social service, the implementation of major charitable projects both inside Russia and abroad, the development of the Russian Islamic education and science system.
The EU Ambassador to Russia also got acquainted with major international projects, such as the Muslim International Forum, the International Conference "Spiritual Silk Road", the photo exhibition "Traditions of Islam in Russia". Noting the openness of international projects and programs, Mufti Gaynutdin invited the Ambassador to actively participate in them.
During the conversation, the Mufti stressed that the Muslims of Russia fully support the clear and constructive position of the country's leadership on the current topical issues on the international agenda.
For his part, the EU Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Markus Florian Ederer, highly appreciated the extensive work of the RBM RF and the personal contribution of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin to strengthening peace, harmony and good neighborliness in a multinational and multi-religious Russian society. He also thanked the religious leader for a detailed immersion in the history and current state of affairs of the Muslim Ummah of Russia and stressed that the information received is of great practical value for him.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to deepen and expand cooperation, exchange views on topical issues on an ongoing basis.
