Muslims of Russia and Turkey will expand and strengthen cooperation
On Friday,19th of March Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met at his residence in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque with the Adviser on Religious Affairs of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow, Omer Faruk Savuran. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chairman of the RBM RF for International Affairs Rushan Abbyasov and the head of the International Department RBM RF Ildar Galeev.
The meeting was held on the initiative of the Turkish side and was devoted to the discussion of a number of relevant issues.
Russia and Turkey are bound by centuries-old cooperation. In two years, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries will be celebrated. In addition, 16th of March of this year is the date of the signing of the most important Moscow Treaty of Friendship and brotherhood in 1921, according to which the RSFSR actually recognized the independence of Turkey

Greeting the guest, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin emphasized that the Muslims of Russia consider the relations between our countries and the mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Turkey to confirm the aspirations of our peoples, including the Muslim Turkic peoples of Russia, for unshakable peace and the continuity of ties based on the principles of good-neighborliness and mutual respect.
From confirming the historically significant roots of cooperation, the participants of the meeting moved on to today's issues, summed up the results of the past difficult year and confirmed their readiness to increase constructive cooperation in 2021 and in subsequent years in all traditional areas of cooperation between the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Diyanet Directorate for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
The religious leader of the Muslims of Russia Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin conveyed his prayerful wishes to the Chairman of the Department for Religious Affairs, Professor Ali Erbash, for recovery after suffering from a mild form of coronavirus infection.
During the meeting, specific events in 2021 in the field of education, publishing, and in the social and humanitarian sphere were outlined.
The sides confirmed their intentions to develop and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
