One of the largest mosques with 140-meter minarets will be constructed in Egypt.
In Egypt, the authorities plan to build the world's largest mosque in the capital. The official representative of the Egyptian president, Bassam Rady, announced the new project on Facebook. "The Egyptian mosque in the new administrative capital will become one of the largest in the world. Its minaret will reach a height of 140 meters. It will include a number of huge halls for celebrations, events and rooms for reading the Koran for men, women and children.
There will also be a parking space and a multi-storey car park for 3,000 cars, " Rady said.

Egypt's announcement of plans to build the world's largest mosque has caused confusion on social media. Many people have called the project a waste of state money at a time when Egyptian hospitals are overcrowded due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, another part of the users praise the project, saying that it shows the greatness of Egypt: "It is an amazing architecture. May God protect Egypt and its people from all evil."
