Robots at the al – Haram Mosque in Mecca help pilgrims with rituals
The General Directorate for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques uses smart technologies to improve the level of services provided to them.

The four-wheeled robot helps people perform rituals, introduces fatwas and answers questions.

It is possible to add instant translation, remote communication with religious figures and install instructions in different languages.

The remote-controlled robot supports 11 languages, including Arabic, English, French, Russian, Persian, Turkish, Chinese, Bengali and Hausa.

It is equipped with a 21-inch touch screen that can be used to answer visitors' questions. The robot also has an intelligent stop system that allows it to easily and quickly move to different places.

The General Directorate for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques offers Quran reading services to Muslims around the world and visitors to the al-Haram Mosque who want to improve their level and get ijaz.

The training is remote, with broadcast from the Al-Haram Mosque, and is available in six languages, including Arabic, English, Urdu and Hausa.

The General Directorate also launched the Smart Quran, an electronic device for people with visual disabilities so that they can read the Quran in Braille.
