The Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States was renamed the Organization of Turkic-speaking States and adopted the "Vision of the Turkic World 2040"
On 12th of November, the VIII summit of the Heads of State of the Cooperation Council of Turkic—speaking States - the so-called Turkic Council - opened in Turkey. It is attended by the heads of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Hungary. It is worth saying that Hungary has the status of an observer state.
During the meeting, the participants agreed to change the name of the Turkic Council to "Organization of Turkic States", to create a Turkic Investment Fund, to join Turkmenistan as an observer state, and also approved the "Vision of the Turkic World-2040", which sets out the mid-and long-term goals and objectives of the organization.
In addition, it was proposed to start developing a Comprehensive strategy for the development of low-carbon production and the creation of an international Roadmap for the development of hydrogen as one of the priority areas in the energy sector under the auspices of the United Nations.
It should be noted that at the suggestion of Turkish President Recep Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was awarded the "Supreme Order of the Turkic World" by the Council of Heads of State in recognition of the historic victory that ensured the liberation of the territories of Azerbaijan and the restoration of the territorial integrity of the state.
