“To invite the Imam of the Al-Nur mosque from New Zealand to the EMF seminar is a gesture of solidarity with the Muslims of New Zealand” - Damir Mukhetdinov

“The invitation of Imam of Al-Nur Mosque from Christchurch to the EMF seminar is a gesture of solidarity with the Muslims of New Zealand” - Damir Mukhetdinov.

Damir Mukhetdinov, Executive Secretary of the International Muslim Forum, Board Member of the European Muslim Forum, welcomed the meeting of the EMF, dedicated to the tragic events in Christchurch (New Zealand).

The meeting takes place these days in the German city of Hamburg. On Friday, participants in the event, along with the Imam of Al-Nur Mosque of Christchurch city, Gamal Foud, visited the Friday prayers in the central Hamburg mosque, where they prayed for Muslims who died in New Zealand mosques. After the namaz, the EMF delegation visited 6 mosques in Hamburg, and also met with the leadership of the Lutheran Church in the main and most ancient Hamburg Cathedral in St. Petersburg.

According to the Executive Secretary of the International Muslim Forum, Damir Mukhetdinov, today it is more important than ever to support the Muslims of New Zealand, and also once again raise the question of the need for interfaith and intercultural dialogue, an example of which we are seeing in Germany today.

On March 15 of this year, in the city of Christchurch (New Zealand), right-wing terrorists attacked two mosques that were about five kilometers from each other. As a result of the terrorist attack, 50 Muslims died and dozens were injured.
