The meeting of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia-the Islamic World"
On 24th of November, 2021, a visiting meeting of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia-the Islamic World" was held in the city of Jeddah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Group, established in 2006, aims to strengthen cooperation between the countries of the Muslim world and the Russian Federation. The group's activities are based on the large Muslim community of Russia, its intellectual and humanitarian potential.

The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Shrines, Governor of the province of Mecca Al-Mukarram Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the KSA Walid bin Abdul Karim, Minister of Waqf Affairs of Egypt Muhammad Mukhtar Juma, Supreme Mufti of Egypt Dr. Shawki Ibrahim Allam, Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sheikh Abdurahman bin Rashid Al Khalifa, leadership of the World Islamic League, General Secretary of the The World Organisation for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Hamid Hawali Shahriari, representatives of government departments, international public organizations, orientalists, diplomats, journalists and religious figures. On the Russian side, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the OIC Ramazan Abdulatipov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the permanent secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Ozerov participated. The Muslim clergy was presented by the Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Rushan Abbyasov.

Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, General Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin sent a video greeting to the participants. The religious leader's speech emphasized the importance of Vladimir Putin's visits to Saudi Arabia (in 2007 and 2019) and the arrival of the Custodian of the two shrines, His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Moscow (2017), which demonstrated the level of trust between the leaders of the two states.

In the speech of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, special emphasis was placed on the importance of consolidating the efforts of Russia and the Islamic world for a timely response to current challenges and problems. His Highness also pointed out that in 2021, Russian-Saudi diplomatic relations have passed the 95-year mark, and noted that their development has experienced a new impulse in recent years.

Addressing the participants of the meeting of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia-the Islamic World", the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov read a greeting from the President of The Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

On the sidelines of the meeting in Jeddah, the grand opening of the exhibition "Traditions of Islam in Russia" organized by the RBM RF, dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the peoples of Volga Bulgaria, took place.
