The Acting Chairman of the RBM RF, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Damir Mukhetdinov met with the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran TV and Radio Company Mr. Ali Asgari at the residence of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to the Russian Federation, Mr. Kazem Jalali, and the head of the International Department of the RBM RF, Ildar Galeev.

On 2nd of August, a delegation of the RBM RF visited the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church and met with the head of the department, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Doctor of Theology. The delegation of Russian Muslims was headed by Acting Chairman of the RBM RF, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, Head of the Center for Islamic Studies of St. Petersburg State University, Executive Secretary of the  Muslim International Forum, Doctor of Theology Damir Mukhetdinov. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman for Internal Affairs Ravil Seifetdinov from the RBM RF and Priest Dimitri Safonov, Executive Secretary of the Interreligious Council of Russia, from the DECR.

Yesterday, the grand opening of the Year of History and Culture of the Lithuanian Tatars took place in the Main Hall of the Palace of Rulers in Vilnius. The Muslims of Russia were represented at the event by the acting chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Damir Mukhetdinov, who congratulated the participants and guests of the ceremony on behalf of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and of the general secretariat of the Muslim International Forum.

In the feeds of many Russian Muslims these days, there were reports about the construction of 99 new churches in Moscow over the past 10 years. This news attracted the attention of the Muslim audience against the background of the obvious problem of the lack of mosques in Moscow and in many cities in Russia. As we remember, 26 years ago, for the last time, a land plot was allocated for the construction of a new mosque in Moscow.

On 30th June, 2021, Ildar Nurimanov, Deputy Chairman and Chief of Staff of the Religious Directorate of Muslims of the Russian Federation, received a delegation of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe headed by the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov. The delegation also included the head of the section, Legal Adviser Irina Vlasyuk and Political Adviser Anton Thomsen, as well as a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation - Second Secretary of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights Ekaterina Glazova.
