Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum visited Saudi Arabia

Executive Secretary of the Muslim International Forum Damir Mukhetdinov  met with the rector of the Islamic University of Medina, Dr. Abdullah al-Atibi. The meeting took place in the university residence of the rector in Medina.

Damir Mukhetdinov spoke about the system of Islamic education in the Russian Federation, as well as about the close relations that exist between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Damir Mukhetdinov did not fail to mention the problems of extremism and terrorism, with which, according to him, “we must fight together”.

He also expressed hope for strategic cooperation between the structures of the two countries in the field of training highly qualified personnel who will serve in centralized and local religious organizations for the benefit of Islam and Muslims.

At the end of the meeting, Damir Mukhetdinov thanked the Rector of the Islamic University of Medina for inviting and organizing the visit.

In addition, during the visit, a tour of the holy sites of the Medina and a visit to the Koranic exhibition were organized for representatives of the International Muslim Forum.

Here it is worth emphasizing the intensification of relations between the Russian Federation and the KSA, which occurred after the visit to Russia of His Royal Majesty Salman bin Abdel-Aziz in October 2017.

Since then, at many talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of the kingdom, a high assessment has been given to the high level of cooperation achieved, including in the trade, economic and investment spheres; between Russia and Saudi Arabia in the exchange of views on the situation on global hydrocarbon markets and much more.
