Opening of advanced training courses in Cairo for members of the Council of Ulema of the RBM of the Russian Federation
On 25th of July, the official opening of advanced training courses for members of the Ulema Council of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM RF) took place in Cairo.
The courses are organized within the framework of a memorandum signed in December between the RBM RF, the General Secretariat of Fatwa departments and Departments in the countries of the world and the Egyptian Fatwa Office. The sides pay great attention to this event, since it takes place in the Year of Humanitarian Cooperation between Russia and Egypt.
With the blessing of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the event is attended by almost all members of the Ulema Council representing cities and regions of the Russian Federation: Moscow, the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, the Penza Region, the Republic of Mordovia, the Ulyanovsk Region, as well as the Bulgarian Islamic Academy (Tatarstan) , etc. The delegation on behalf of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin is headed by the Chairman of the Council of Ulema of the RBM RF Shamil hazrat Alyautdinov.
All classes within the course are held directly at the Headquarters of the Egyptian Fatwa Office. In the solemn part of the event, the Supreme Mufti of Egypt, Muhammad Shawki Allam, addressed the audience.
"The signing of the memorandum between the RBM RF and the Egyptian Fatwa Authority (Dar al-Ifta) has opened up great opportunities for close cooperation, expansion and deepening of scientific contacts," Sheikh Muhammad Shawki Allyam stressed, noting that he highly appreciates the friendship with Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the religious leader of the Muslims of Russia. Muhammad Shawki Allyam said that during his trips to Russia, he had the opportunity to personally verify that Mufti Ravil Gainutdin is an open person, a highly respected religious leader who adheres to the middle path.
Chairman of the Council of Ulema of the Duma of the Russian Federation Shamil Alyautdinov thanked the Egyptian side for the reception and conveyed the words of greeting from Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. The Chairman of the Ulema Council focused on the importance of interaction between the RBM RF and the Egyptian Fatwa Office, in particular, in the field of fatwa-making.
It is noteworthy that the cooperation of the Ulema Council with Egyptian religious and educational institutions has significantly intensified in recent years. For example, in the quarterly meetings of the Council, among the lecturers were leading experts of the House of Fatwas of Egypt.
On August 2-3, the Russian delegation will take part in the international conference "Fatwa Institutions of the Digital Era", organized by the Egyptian Fatwa Authority.
Recall that the Council of Ulema of the RBM RF is a collegial advisory body created to solve scientific and theological issues. The main tasks of the Council are: preparation of religious and legal opinions (fatwas) on current issues that have arisen; holding quarterly meetings; interaction with international organizations on the publication of fatwas. The Council of Ulema of the Duma of the Russian Federation consists of more than 20 people who have a fundamental theological education and are fluent in Arabic. The members of the Ulema Council represent more than 10 major regions of the Russian Federation.
