The Guinness Book of World Records has chosen a girl from Saudi Arabia as the youngest author
Ritaj Al-Hazmi, a 12-year-old girl, won the title of  the youngest writer of a series of novels” in the world after publishing two novels and got into the Guinness Book of Records.

This year, she published her third novel and is currently working on two new ones.

Al-Hazmi grew up reading fiction and fantasy, and was inspired to become a writer in 2016 after her father took her to a bookstore and wanted to see her books on the shelves along with big authors.

She was interested in writing for her age group, as she said that most of the books are aimed on those who are older or younger than her.

The young writer wanted her first book to be fiction. “I knew what I wanted, as long as my book had an idea that would help readers run to their dreams without giving up. I have always believed that my creativity will help convince most people to do just that.”

When she finished the draft of her first book, she sent it to the editor, who told her that it should be much more detailed than she had originally thought. She did not give up, and continued to work hard.

Her father insisted that she take several courses to learn more about the genre and how to master it. After completing the necessary courses, she rewrote the entire draft.

Al-Hazmi finished her first book,"Treasure of the Lost Sea", in late 2018, and sent it to the editor. Then she began writing her second novel, " Portal of the Hidden World". Both of her books were published in 2019.

In the same year, she was also planning her third book in the series. “Since I read some blogs about the future, I assumed it would be a good topic for my main characters. Since most of the series was about magical powers, I knew that some of the changes would be pretty good, given that the main characters would be trying something new.”

Al-Hazmi usually thinks of the title of the book before writing it, but it changed several times during the writing process, until she finally decided to name it based on the theme “Beyond the future World.”

As she was writing her third book in the series-as her parents were looking for new courses for her— Al-Hazmi decided to hold her own workshop. She started working on the presentation slides, planning the content, topics to discuss and, most importantly, how she could convey the knowledge to those who were going to learn.

“After I prepared and presented the seminar, I was amazed to see how many kids come to study. I've learned a lot myself throughout my workshop,” she said. “One of the most important things to do after learning is to teach others what you know, remember what you learned, and why you chose to do it.”

"Beyond the Future World" had a strong influence on Al-Hazmi, she said, noting that she had a ”very memorable " journey with the book.

“My message to everyone — especially those my age — dream big, do it now, don't wait. Ideas come and go, as do opportunities, " she said.
