The Organization of Islamic Cooperation call for strengthening cooperation in order to protect women's rights
The General Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation called on Member States to work together to strengthen measures to protect women.

Hissein Brahim Taha said that joint actions should include the introduction of laws and regulations aimed at supporting and ensuring the safety of women, as well as the work of muslim institutions operating in this area.

The head of the organization spoke during the UN-declared International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Taha said OIC continues to do everything in its ability to improve the status of women and protect them from all forms of violence.
